Who this agreement is with

This site is operated by BadgerMecX Advanced Engineering Solutions, Maltepe, Istanbul ("BadgerMecX", "we", "us"). Using the site means you accept what follows. If you do not accept it, please do not use the site.

What this site is — and is not

It describes what we do and gives you some engineering tools. Nothing on it is an offer, a quotation, or engineering advice for your particular case. Scope, price, schedule and responsibility are agreed in writing, project by project. Until there is a signed contract, nothing you read here binds either of us.

The calculators — please read this one

This is the clause that matters most, so it is in plain words.

• The calculators are for learning and for preliminary sizing. They do not replace design, an analysis run by a qualified engineer, or the checks your project's code requires.
• Every result rests on assumptions. Each calculator states its assumptions and its limits; outside them a result means nothing, however confident it looks.
• You are responsible for the numbers you put in and for what you do with what comes out. Before a result informs a real decision, a competent engineer has to review it and take responsibility for it.
• We are not the engineer of record for anything you do with these tools, and using them does not make us your engineer.

We test each engine against reference cases and publish its version. Even so we do not warrant that a tool is free of error. If you find one, tell us — privacy@badgermecx.com — and we will fix it and say so.

Tessera

Tessera is software under development. What is written about it on this site — scope, stages, principles, what each module will do — describes our intent, not a commitment to deliver a feature, or any feature, by a date. Joining the early-access list does not give you a right to access, and it costs nothing. When there is something to use, its own terms will come with it.

Availability and changes

We may change, restrict or withdraw any part of this site, including a free tool, at any time and without notice. We do not promise the site will be available without interruption. When a calculation engine changes in a way that affects results its version number changes with it, and every saved calculation records the version that produced it — so you can always tell whether a saved result came from today's engine.

Your account

• One person, one account. What is done through your account is treated as done by you, so keep your mailbox — and any password you set — to yourself.
• Sign-in codes are single-use and expire quickly. Do not forward them to anyone.
• Give correct information and keep it correct. This matters most in a job application.
• We may suspend or close an account used to break these terms, to attack the site, or to pretend to be someone else.
• You can delete your account, and everything attached to it, yourself and at any time from your settings page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Saved work and Pro access

A free account can save calculations, up to 200 of them, and export what its plan allows. Pro access adds the full step-by-step working and export where a calculator is set that way.

Pro access is currently granted by hand and either of us can end it at any time; nothing is charged for it. When paid plans go live, the price, the period and the billing, refund and cancellation terms will be what the checkout states at the time you buy, and they will be written out on their own page before a single payment is taken.

Job applications

Applying is not an offer of employment, and it obliges neither of us to anything. We may change a posting, close it, or decide not to fill the role. What you tell us has to be true: a material misstatement ends the application, whenever we find it. How we handle what you send is in the privacy notice.

What belongs to us

The site and its parts — text, layout, code, drawings, the calculators and their engines, and the BadgerMecX and Tessera names, logos and marks — belong to us or to our licensors. You may read it, print a page for your own use, and quote a short passage with a link back to the source.

You may not copy the site or a substantial part of it, republish our content, use it commercially, scrape it in bulk, or use it to train a machine-learning system, without our written permission.

The fonts on this site are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Standards named on the site — Eurocodes, EN, ISO, ASME, MIL-STD and others — belong to the bodies that publish them; we are not affiliated with those bodies and we do not distribute their documents.

What you send us

Anything you send — a message, a file, a CV, a calculation — stays yours. You give us permission to store it and use it for the purpose you sent it for: answering your enquiry, assessing your application, running your project.

Please do not send us anything you are not allowed to share, anything confidential before an NDA is in place — ask for one, the contact form has a box for it — or any file containing malicious code.

Fair use of the site

Do not attack, overload or probe the site; do not try to reach data that is not yours; do not get around the access limits on a tool; do not automate the forms or harvest addresses; do not impersonate anyone; and do not use the site to break the law. Crawling is welcome within robots.txt and at a rate that does not degrade the site for other people.

Liability

The site and the free tools are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost data, lost time, or the cost of work redone — arising from your use of the site or from a result one of its tools produced.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud. Liability for paid engineering work is governed by the contract for that work and by the limits set in it, not by this page.

Links to other sites

We link to standards bodies, tools, papers and articles. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Changes to these terms

We may change this page. The date at the top is the last change, and continuing to use the site after it means you accept the new version. If a change materially affects an active account or a paid plan, we will email account holders before it takes effect.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The Istanbul Anatolian Courts and Enforcement Offices have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you may also apply to the consumer arbitration committees or consumer courts at your place of residence. If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in continue to apply to you, whatever this clause says, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
